IMPRINTS – BLOOD MOON

Imprints are Alex Delfont, Shaun Crook and Darren Clark. Our most recent album is a concept album inspired by The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. A collaboration between us and the video game soundtrack label Data Discs.

This album utilises tape machines, pedal steel guitar, modular synthesisers, field recordings, piano, double bass and various DIY circuits/devices in an attempt to approach the idea of the “video game cover album” in a more organic and interpretative way.

Produced by Jamie Crook. Double Bass on tracks 1 and 3 by Tom Rosenfeld
Recorded and mixed by Imprints at Liminal Audio, 2019-2023.
Mastered by Shawn Hatfield and Shaun Crook.

IMPRINTS – DATA TRAILS

This album was originally released in 2014 on Serein. It has now been re-released in 2025 with new artwork.

“Imprints are a technical nightmare of tape machines, synthesizers, homemade pedals, mixing desks and Max/MSP patches; a band perpetually on the brink of collapse. Their music examines the uneasy relationship between dissonance and melody, the contrast between dense masses and harmonious space. Contorted textures and tape-saturated atmospheres merge with pedal-steel-guitar, generative feedback and live sampling to produce a sound that is both organic and electric.” – Huw Roberts, Serein

“An absolutely extraordinary album” – Mary-Ann Hobbs, BBC6 Music

Written and produced by Shaun Crook, Darren Clark and Alex Delfont
Tom Rosenfeld – Double Bass (Longshore Drift)
James Fox – Drums (The Sea & Electricity)
Artwork by Jenny Morse
Mastering by Shawn Hatfield
With thanks to Jamie Crook and Huw Roberts
